All things chromatic

no problem, they are all in different keys due to the fact, I’m really brushing up on my position playing ( another benefit of playing Chrominica) I’ve got a them saved. I’ll post em in a separate post.

I’ve tried several times to post links on here and can’t do it. It seems overly complex
I go to YouTube I click on share, go to her and then seem to meet a brick wall when it comes to posting, whenever I’ve posted before it’s by sheer luck. It needs a simpler way of doing things especially for people like myself who are not on a computer. I do most of my visits here by phone

@andy2 If you paste in the link you’ve copied and it doesn’t do what you expect, just leave it as pasted & mention that it hasn’t worked. Then one of us techies may be able to take what you’ve posted & make it work.
We might even be able to explain what it was we did to make it work?
How’s that sound?
Worth a try?

@andy2 Or copy & paste the title of the youtube page - that may be enough to find it by searching

You could type it, but copy & paste can be better if possible.

only problem is there’s a lot of them, it would take forever

@andy2 If you just do one that will show us the type of thing it is & give a start. It might also lead to others on the same channel?
Just a thought. No pressure. It’s entirely up to you what you choose to do.

I hear you on that slide timing. I’ve been working on a Harmonicats piece called Latin quarter. It’s quite fast and there are passages I’ve practiced well over 1000 times. I set the metronome slow, play five times, the notch the metronome up one click, then repeat. Also I play the hard part of certain measures over and over.

I think it’s a little harder than I expected. But over a months it’s come a long way. My goal is to record by the end of the month. I just keep chipping away at it.

I just can’t do it on my phone, I’m not much good with it. I only use it to call and text

I go to the share feature on the video click on it then I got to the Icon for this forum I try to enter the link nothing happens. I’ve tried this about 7 times now can’t seem to get it to work

@Andy2 It sounds as though you’re doing the appropriate things. It’s hard to diagnose the issue from here. If you have a friend who ‘knows about computers’ maybe ask next time you see them? Show them the problem for a single example & see if they can spot what’s going on?
Just an idea.

This seems to be the typical excuse that you have used to avoid posting any recordings of your playing the harmonica.

You also told us about your aluminum combs with the round holes and somehow you managed the impossible and actually posted photos of them! :open_mouth: Then, when asked about where you bought them or from which company, you said that the name was inside of the harp – so why didn’t you remove the cover and post the information? You were able to install the new combs, so I am certain that removing the covers would take all of perhaps 5 minutes …

I am beginning to doubt most of what you brag about regularly on this forum. Can’t any of your buddies help you out? This isn’t really rocket science.

Carlos1 That was unnecessary, gives no useful information to forum members is argumentative and personally downright rude to a regular contributor. As @Andy2 is in the UK and you’re in South Africa, a country I know well, it is doubtful if the information would have been of any use. Try looking for the information yourself, to use your own words that’s not rocket science either, it is on Amazon.sa at SAR 158.01 Jay1

The guy is a blow-hard. Is it really too much to ask that he simply remove the cover and give the other posters at least a picture of the company logo that is on the comb? I’ll give him a break when he stops blowing his horn without providing any real help when asked for it.

I have already purchased aluminum combs with round holes and do not need his help. But simple politeness on his side would certainly have been nice to the other poster who asked about the comb’s manufacturer.

Thank you for the clarification. I think everyone can now see your reasoning and understand your lack of time to open one of the harps to assist another forum member who requested the comb information.

As far as chromatic harp messages go, I think that always placing the word “Chromatic” in the title would be a great help for people to quickly find posts related to chromatic harps.

One major advantage of the Trochilus chromatic harp (yellow comb) is the bending sounds much more like that which diatonic players are accustomed to hearing. That is a sound that many people prefer. Of course, on a “typical” chromatic harp, other sounding bends are not bad – it’s all a matter of what you wish to hear.

When I replace the reeds next I will provide the information. I did however try to find the receipt but unfortunately my wife had chucked it out. My grand eldest daughter will be staying over with us soon she is more computer/ phone savvy than myself I will ask her if she can figure it out for me. The kids these days can do all sorts with phones. Unfortunately I cannot
