Outta curiosity…

What bands do you like that have a harmonica player in the group?

My favorite is the Alarm…and a few other misc never-been-heard-of-before bands!

What are the ones you dig?

Peace Out!

I have been building a playlist of harmonica songs since I started playing–up to about 130 tracks now. It’s funny… I never noticed it before, but so many of my favorite songs have harp. some of my favorite bands/artists:
The Alarm
The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies
Bruce Springsteen
Blues Traveler
Fabulous Thunderbirds

Recent Discoveries:
Jason Ricci
The Barrelhouse Kings
The Delta Saints
Hazmat Modine
The Helio Sequence

PS:I would be interested in the names of your “never heard of” faves. I listen to a lot of music! Check me out on Last.FM -

Hey BT,

Since you are an Alarm fan, have you ever figured out the harp part of their song “The Stand”? I have been working on it and here’s what I came up with:

[code]2–slide–4 -4 4 -4 5 -4

4 -4 4 -4 4 -4 5 -5 -4 5

This is the part that starts out at 2:55 in the song. The first time he plays it (at 1:05) it is shorter, and maybe the second time, too. Not sure about the key, though. I am using a C because that is what I have.

I don’t have it down yet, though its on my to-do list!

I do play the Spirit of 76 though!

No name bands that I know…

John Coster
Lucas Hitch
Walter Tore
Tobias Volkamer
Juzzie Smith

And without the Harmonica…

Temple Veil
Mike Steltzer

There’s a few to keep you busy for a while! Look 'em up on youtube!

Cool… you got a video of you playing Spirit of '76? I love that song!

Thanks. I’ll look up those bands on YouTube or Rhapsody.

Not yet, but I will eventually!
