"Busking" Or improvising on my own, questions

Wooo hooo!! Right on @mauraulucien so much is sounding great here. Especiallly the first 2 riffs are sounding MONEY. Curious if you’ve busked this or played it for anybody? I’m imagining that it would be very well received!!

The last riffs are sounding super-great at all -4 -4 -4 -4 -2 -2 -2 -4 -4 -4- 4- -5 -5 -5. Nice stuff man!

As far as constructive criticism, a couple pretty simple things to work on that will level this performance up for you.

1.) On the -5 -5’ -4 -5’ -4

You’re not bending down that second -5’ (so you’re actually playing -5 -5’ -4 -5 -4) which doesn’t sound as cool and bluesy. So slow that down and work on that, and I think you’ll be really pleased with the improvement.

The other main thing is just keeping the beat. When you’re doing the -1 -1 -1 -2 -2 -3’ or whatever that riff is, and then for the long -4’ -4 with the hand wah, all of a sudden is breaking the groove. The MOST VITAL focus on solo instrumental stuff is NEVER BREAKING THE GROOVE. Keep swaying, or tapping that foot and make sure the audience is feeling that. You’r nailing it on the first few riffs, but then it kinda disappears at that part. So you could just eliminate that riff from your performance - that’s an easy solution - or practice it along with a metronome or a backing track like this:

Not a perfect backing track, but you could practice to it, and it might be easier to feel than just the click-click-click of a metronome.

Point is to really figure out what the groove of those riffs I mentioned are, how it’s related to the other grooves, how to keep that pulse pumping while you play ‘em. Cuz the rest of it, I’M FEELIN’ it man. :notes: Keep up the great work. :facepunch:t3:
