Hi everyone,
I recently found this interesting software tool (unfortunately, it is only for Microsoft Windows and I only have Linux, so I’m not able to use it). Check it out and let us know about your experiences using it.

Wow that thing is fun. I would like to have time to really play with it. Thanks for the tip.

I’m a Mac snob myself.
(When I was a Microsoft guy, I used to hate people like me. )
I’ve been using this on my iPad for a while for mandolin practice. It’s pretty simple, but more fun than a metronome, and the developer keeps adding features.

That sounds great too. If I get a bit further along I will probably use that. I am not even able to keep up properly with all the lessons yet. Some yes and some no. I still really need the tabs. I’m trying hard to learn a couple of songs that I can play without tabs but I always muck them up somewhere.
I guess we are all so used to hearing recordings of brilliant professional musicians playing flawlessly that we tend to beat ourselves up over mistakes. But one thing I am bringing from learning mandolin to this wonderful course is just to enjoy the journey. I remind myself, as Luke says, to have fun. Beethoven agreed: he said “To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable”.
Wow that’s a GEAT Beethoven quote. I LOVE IT, as I love your attitude. Ironic thing is, the less you care, the better you play! So relaxing and having fun isn’t only a happier approach, but also a more effective.
Hello @NickR,
I like Beethoven a lot and he gets right to the point. Thank you to you and of course Beethoven!
