Do you know that Melbourne has spent the longest time in lockdown of all the cities in the world? I have written a song called Streets of Melbourne and play my C harmonica in in it. You can hear / watch my performance here:
Hallo @EBtunes,
Thank you Astrid, I am happy that you like my song about lockdown in Melbourne.
I live in NSW not in Victoria, where Melbourne is. However the situation is similar in Sydney and NSW. I am surviving the lockdown OK. I have plenty of time to practice harmonica and guitar:)
WOW @EBTunes! This fricken rocks my friend! Very god on so many levels.
I love how the guitar picking is so fluid and beautiful but then your singing is so punk rock. It reminds me of the Pogues or something like that.
Great job fingerpicking and playing harmonica at the same time. Really cool how the harmonica instrumentals had some interesting harmonic developments that were different from what you played while singing. Love that! And the harmonica fit very nicely over the chords.
Just really well done, and I felt the emotion of what I think you intended to play. WELL DONE!!
Sounds great kind of like bob dylan or an old folk song from where I come from such a simple beat combined with your singing was very relaxing. Keep up the good work Boomer
Walking in Melbourne is a fantastic song. I love the lyrics, the guitar picking and the harmonica. Thanks for sharing that. Iâm guessing lock down is over and hopefully you have gotten a chance to play Melbourne live.
Hi Ublocker
I wrote that song during one weekend or so and within that short time span I recorded and uploaded it as I was quite happy with the recording.
However I have not played the song ever since.
As for playing live; I do not perform much so I have never played it live.
I should have a short performance next month in Wollongong (where I live), but I was not planning to play Streets of Melbourne on that occasion.
I wish somebody else, maybe from Melbourne would perform that song:)
Thanks for taking interest in the Streets of Melbourne.
Cheers
