A friend sent me this book when they found out I was learning to play harmonica.
Sonny Boy Williamson was a big influence in Blues in the 1930’s and 40’s.
It was said that during this time, if you were good with your fists people called you Joe Lewis.
If you were good on the harmonica they called you Sonny Boy.
He was killed at a young age. (34 if I remember correctly)
Several harmonica players used his name and recorded using his name.
The most famous, Rice Miller who recorded as Sonny Boy Williamson 2.
who played with the Animals and the Yardbirds and many others.
A great read.
