Harmo Polar Super Country harmonica is one i was looking at im the key of G. Is this a good brand? The price is around 50. Thanks for any input!
From what Iāve heard off other members they are a good harp. Iāve never played one so I canāt say 100%
I have a Harmo harmonica. bought the country tuned one by mistake. It seems to be a decent instrument, but havenāt found an application to where I use country tuning yet, so it hasnāt been used much. Also have a Game changer in the key of A and have been enjoying getting to know it.
Iāve seen them on Amazon, the reviews for them are pretty good. I may try one in the future. atm Iām looking at a couple of Wilde tuned Seydels and a Suzuki Harmonica the name of which has slipped my mind
Yeah i got it and it is pretty awsome. Super rich sound the picture doesnt do it justice
HARPSMITH has them now. David said it all. As far as a new player trying this one I fell it will move anyone up the curve quicker. It is no different than a āstandā diatonic and bending is easier. If you get something from HARPSMITH its going to be right.
A tune I am getting to the point the clean up portion is here as I can play it but the tempo and timing require some improvement. This harp makes playing all notes so well and the ease of bending will speed things up and less intimidating. Point is I would not hesitate playing this harp from a beginner to a very accomplished player.
I am no seasoned player but picking a tougher tune ever time I want to learn another as proven to be best for me. I always want to be the weak link in the chain and want harps that will player up to any level. Its surprising what this has done as a new tune that is more complicated has intimidated me more than once. I just take it a few notes at a time and it seems to always start to come together a note at a time.
I/M/O if you can bend one note you will get them all. Its the first bend that is the toughest. bending this harp is easier. Have you tried sliding into a -2 bend once you have a-1 bend going? I would get the best harp and go from there. I always want to be the cause of something that sounds bad. Mistakes are the games best teacher and turning them into a learning experience is the key. My only advantage is never giving up. I am just glad boxing never was a big sport here. I am the type that is going to get at east one good shot it no matter the beating it takes. You will get there and if you can bend a-1 you will be better in six months and even better in a yearā¦
I just bought one In the UK from Amazon to try it !!
I think Game Changer title applies.
Itās a harp with a slide that can overblow out of the box. The slightest of gapping and itāll overblow very well. That gives me two ways to play about every note.
A year ago I was a decently skilled diatonic player. Now Iām coming along as a chromatic player and playing stuff I only dreamed about before.
Iāve just had delivery of the trochilus in D.
What a fantastic instrument. Feels diatonic, plays diatonic but all of a sudden I can play in Db on a C
Thereās more to it than a chromatic because I can bend notes and then move them up - so there are more options.
Also - it makes things like Arabic tuning possible quickly with the minor third jump but bent.
Iāve not played or heard much like it.
This new Game Changer harmonica sounds seriously impressive. The combination of a diatonic with a chromatic-style button is a cool innovationāespecially with all notes bendable and no wind savers. Itās the kind of instrument that feels tailored for players who like having more control and expression, kind of like how Summertime Saga Mod APK appeals to gamers who enjoy layered stories and custom experiences. Both feel like theyāre made with real enthusiasts in mind. Definitely curious to hear what others think once theyāve had time to play around with it!
I have one and the only thing I had to get used to was the spacing between holes on a Game Changer is a bit wider. I really lie it and play it more like a diatonic. The notes are not quite a good as my Crossovers but the lower notes are much easier. Same for the higher ones. The *1 is very nice. It is getting much more of my practice time as I am getting use to it. All things considered it is defiantly a game changer and I would not hesitate any player try one no matter what your skill level is. All notes play very easy.
They were made with non-overblowers in mind who didnāt want to learn solo tuning.
The makers and the inventor were shocked when I proposed to them that theyāve inadvertently created something that also appeals to artist-level players because it can do things no other harmonica can do.
I suspect iterations and customizations of this harp are going to produce some of the most capable and interesting harmonicas Iāll see in my lifetime.
The main reason is that it gives you twice as many bends and overblows without needing to learn a new layout, and every note can be played in multiple ways (except for the highest and lowest note).
In terms of laying new ground, the opportunity lays in playing position in the parallel version of their usual.
So like 1st position, played in minor. 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6 position in Major. 11th in minor, 12th in minor.
Also, it turns positions 7-9 into like positions 2-4 but where you let go of the slide to drop by a semitone.
And 10th position is just fun on these. But there probably depth I have not plumbed yet.
Thanks to @Hogie.Harmonica Iāve discovered that the greatest power for me in these harps is playing them with button in. So I use my G harmonica as an Ab harmonica, and my C harmonica as a Db harmonica. Great harps! If I was starting over at the beginning, Iād probably just play them exclusively.
