Slidemeister is now a pay to use forum. I am curious to know if, and requesting @Luke to add a Chromatic section to this forum.
People who are interested can comment below to indicate support. @Luke, its a market opportunity to grow your site!

@Dk360 I am looking into this. Standby…
@Dk360 @Luke I’ve just started a topic under ALL THINGS CHROMATIC that will hopefully test the water and can be moved to a specific category if there’s enough interest. Jay1
I would like that, to be honest, I’d like to advance, I’m still hitting sticking points, so it would be good to share
Have a look at ALL THINGS CHROMATIC Jay1
@Jay1 I’m leaning toward just including the word “Chromatic” in the title of threads on the subject. (I will manually insert the word into the title of threads people start specifically about Chromatics, if they don’t include it in there original post title.)
I think we’re all in agreement about bringing down the walls between the 2 instruments. We diatonic and chromatic players have valuable lessons to learn from one another.
@Luke I’d be surprised if there is a wall between diatonic and chromatic players on this forum (unlike Slidemaster). My topic ALL THINGS CHROMATIC is because the majority on the forum are diatonic only or diatonic and chromatic and I’m hoping to dispel some of the myths that have been aired in other places and encourage those who fancy having a go to pick up the big axe. There are some very usable, low cost chromatic available now, unlike when I started when a chromatic cost hundreds of $ or £ more than diatonic. Now is a great time to have a go, it’s not necessary to buy an expensive instrument, after all a chromatic is only just another (bit different) harmonica. Jay1
I play diatonic, chromatic, tremolos, octave harps and they’re all harmonicas capable ( were I good enough) of playing all kinds of music. No difference in my opinion.
Oh there’s certainly a difference, yes they are all harmonicas but with different skills required and different understandings of how they are best used. Sure they can all be used for playing all kinds of music but some are undoubtedly better for some types of music than others. I’d never discourage anyone from trying every type of harmonica available but it’s horses for courses, a matter of using what fits the musical requirement best. Jay1
Something to be aware of, in addition to being a pay site, you’ll also have to be comfortable with conservative politics at Slidemiester.
Not my jam so not worth paying money for it.
I’d love to see a chromatic folder.
I am fine with conservativism - But some of his rules are a bit off. No internet forum should be paid access. The owner of the forum doesn’t even have to pay to get content!
I think it’s fine to charge for a forum. The time cost of keeping the baloney out (politics, grandstanding, people who want to dominate) is not small, and otherwise they have to run ads.
For a harp forum with a ton of participation, and no baloney, I’d pay $5 a month for that and drop Facebook like a hot potato.
As far as politics, my opinion is that harmonica is neutral ground for a global community that includes members from countries that are actually at real physical war with each other. Politics doesn’t belong because it interferes with what we are here fore: to enjoy our shared interest of harmonica. So politics don’t belong, especially ones that are built on chastisement of others for recreation.
Yeah, that was the reason why I left so many chromatic forums. Those people did want players of my kind, neurodivergent and nonbinary, in the forum.
@Hogie.Harmonica @Dk360 @Andy2 @aibattuta @Luke Politics are fine and have their place in political forums but I’ve yet to see harmonicas mentioned on any political forum or stage so why should political views be part of a harmonica forum? In my work I’ve met many politicians and I’ve also met many harmonica players. I’d rather spend time among the harmonica players than with politicians Jay1
Political commentary ruins everything. There are some local music fb groups here that I won’t join because every other post is political. I just want to hear music and talk about harmonica stuff etc. The political atmosphere around the world is a disease that only causes contention, anger, and more dumb people. I would rather not be a part of that haha.
To be fair, your feelings on golden Melody hrarps border on the political
Politics may be a necessary evil, but I don’t need evil near my hobby!
I’m neuro Divergent too, my political views are mostly all politicians should be stood up a wall and shot. @Jay1 feel free to tell any of those knobs heads you meet my opinion. I’ve no time for politics or people who try to force their mostly unwanted opinions on other people. I’ve traveled all over the world and I’ve seen how it works, hence my view on corrupt lying two faced hypocritical over educated morons, who have no idea what ordinary people have to cope with on a day to day basis because they are in their protective little bubble. Sorry for the rant.
…I am not gonna touch this one …
