Question about lessons and practice ...

Hi! My name is Jake and I think I’m addicted to harmonica…

Could someone please help me understand how the lessons work. I’m at lesson 17 … developing the drumsticks and I’m confused. He tells you “Ticka , Ticka” in one then tells you to “ticka, Tooka” then “tucka ,Tootoo” Then finally “tucka, toodul” Am I supposed to learn all the different ways? Should I not move on to other videos until I can get down the harmonica drumsticks?

I think you should do exactly what JP tells… it’s just a lesson to make you comfortable with the T and K sounds… you will mostly use “Tucka, toodul” in later lessons…

I personally prefer to combine “ticka-ticka (draw), tucka-tucka (blow)” (in which i can go quite fast) with the “tucka (draw), toodul (blow)” (i seem to be still slower on this one)

You will learn a hundred ticka tootals and other ways to sound your notes. I suggest that if something gets you hung up move on to the next lesson, work it for a few days and come back to it and work on it some more.
