Reed changed pitch... Did I break it?

I’m a brand newbe. I bought a Honer C “Blues Bender” a little over a week ago and have been having a fun time playing various tabs I’ve found on the web. All of a sudden the 4 blow starts playing a weak and hard to blow E rather than a C it had been playing before. (I play piano so I know the fundamentals). All the other notes are fine apart from the to be expected difficulties (at least from what I’ve read) with 2 & 3 draws. Could I have “broken” it? I’ve tried slapping out the moisture and letting it dry 24 hours. No change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jeff

Try taking the covers off and checking the reed to make sure there is not something jamming it…and if there is nothing…you might have just blown its brains out! lol

Great advise!! You called it. After opening it I found a wad of fuzz about the size of sesame seed wedged in the reed.

Thanks so much,

Jeff

Something I know only from experience! lol

Peace Out!
