I was wondering if there are barrel screw and nut sets for the special 20, cause I hate the star nuts they are hard to tighten. Also wondering if it’s possible to get them at a regular hardware store.
Try Rockin Rons. Ask him which ones might fit.
I’m sure harpsmith can help you too
Hi!
You can always take any cheap harmonica (that we all have at the bottom of the drawer) and change the screws. Probably those screws are the best parts of that harp.
And if It fits on your S20, you’ve got It!!
I did It with a Cascha Harp that I found in my son’s toy-box…
Hope It works!
Have a look at this site on Seydel screws.
Thanks everyone for all the replies. I will check with Rockin Rons I have bought stuff from him before.
I’m replacing Hohner’s hexalobular chicago screws to M2,5 DIN934 nuts + DIN912 screws (length 12 mm)
@JanDomanski Thanks where do you get those. Never mind I just found them on Amazon. I ordered some to see if they will work.
@moman If you are wanting barrel nuts like what come on the Golden Melody. You could take the cover plates off and bore a slightly bigger hole with a drill press, to fit the barrel and try that. Double check how much extra room you have on the Sp20 comb, I can’t remember at the moment, but that might be an option.
@LoneStar thanks I had ordered screws from amazon which turned out to be incorrect, too large so I sent them back. I haven’t looked into it any further as of yet, but hoping to pick them up at a local hardware store soon.
I found them black on Amazon, they’ll look cool on my Lee Oskar (black comb).
Ciao
Stefano

Sorry the screws are supposed to be M2,5x12mm
