Seydel Disinfection Bag

Thanks for the heads up on that. I had no idea what it was, much less having ever heard of it and I’ll have to check it out. As for cleaning harps I have no problem or issues whatsoever in taking them fully apart to give them a thorough cleaning. I more often that not place the reed plates and the comb (if it’s plastic) in a shallow container with water and a small amount of of white distilled vinegar. If by chance I feel the need to disinfect it I then use hydrogen peroxide.

I hope you can fully recover as soon as possible. My grandfather died from that almost 40 years ago, when no cure was possible but now the medical reality is completely different, so you will be fine. Also my sister in law was fighting with a terrible cancer last years and she’s lucky to be alive at this point, so i can imagine what you’re goin through.

I wish you all the best and, also to have a lot of fun with the harmonica. If you dare with guitar at some point, just give me a shout!

A big hug, pwherda!

I wood get rid of the wooden comb if you have not already and replace it with a comb that alcohol will not attack. Dip your modified in alcohol for 10 seconds, warm it and see how well it plays. If you are not going to play often dip it before storing for a month.

Thanks for the very kind wishes.

Luckily it was caught in its early stage, but I still had to go through numerous chemo treatments and a specialized intensive surgery followed by more chemo treatments. As of date it’s still in remission but I have to keep on top of it with occasional PET CT scans, etc. At the time I started with the chemo treatments I decided to try and teach myself guitar via online lessons, but as it turned out after more of the treatments I ended up getting permanent nerve damage to my fingers from the chemo. If the cancer doesn’t kill you the damn chemo will! lol So with that I’m stuck with a beautiful Taylor guitar that I’ll have to try and sell. But, I’m able to easily grip a harmonica so here I am.

With that said I hope you and your family had a great Christmas and a Happy, and more importantly, a healthy New Year!

Sounds like ‘peripheral neuropathy’? I’ve not fallen foul of that yet, but I’m familiar with the general idea of the meds making you feel more unwell than the condition, at least for a while! :cat_with_wry_smile:
