I thought it would be cool to start a thread of great 1st position blues recordings. There ain’t a TON of them, are there? To get us started, here is a great one from one of my fav players of late, Big Walter Horton:
Wow all those subtle techniques add so much flare.

Probably some sort of region based rights issue? If you try a youtube search for ’ Big Walter Horton Hard Hearted Woman’ it will probably find something that works for you. Here’s one of the results I found doing that:
A few of thoughts –
~ Big Walter was the best for 1st position and tone. You covered him
~ Jimmy Reed songs, so many
~ Slim Harpo has a few including Rainin’ in My Heart
~ John Brim with Little Walter Ice Cream Man
~ James Cotton – a good first position player, here doing a Jimmy Reed song
Big Boss Man
Holy Crap @BnT that rendition of Big Boss Man with Steve Miller and James Cotton in 1st position is a GEM!! It’s so funny because I’ve literally been listening to Jimmy Reed’s version of Big Boss Man on repeat all day today!! (Of course he placed it in second position, at least on the recording I’ve been listening to.) Crazy good share man. Thank you!
