Hi all! I’ve reached the point where I can do -3" reliably and without it sounding too obnoxiously loud/without straining the muscles in my face.
However, with the -2" to even get close I must “exert lots of effort.” Any tips?

Try a loose embrochure. Try to keep your lower lip further from your teeth.
Do what I did when I learned to bend. Bend the top of your tongue down in front of your bottom teeth and lips. Make sure the top of your tongue is blocking the hole on your harp. SLOWLY retract your tongue while keeping it bent, and draw in air at the same time. You will easily pass through the bent notes on the 2 hole.
Thanks! I’m trying your technique in combination with periodically trying the -1" - it’s even harder, BUT after fiddling around with it I get marginally better on my journey to -2"
