I’ve got a Mad Cat, but I prefer my Jason Ricci signature mic.
I’ve got a mad dog but I haven’t been able to get a good blues sound out of it.
Finally got organized for travel. Maddog on the right.
I have been using a shaker for years now. Quality is fine BUT the major advantage is size for people with smaller hands.

@ [WB_Lee_Oscar Very nice set up you got there.
Hey everyone,
Thank you so much for the great input above! I thought I’d share an update. I did end up getting the Madcat mic. I quite like it. It’s taking a bit of getting used to, but I really like the small size and the ability to use my hands almost as though I was playing acoustic. I must say, though, that I wonder if I might be happier with the Bulletini, which seems to have a kickass sound (not sure if they’re easily available in Canada, tho). One of my issues is that I hold the harp in my right hand, so with the Madcat, the volume knob points away from me on my right and the mic wire hangs over my left had. I’m able to manage it, but it’s not ideal. I’ve tried holding the harp in my left hand but it feels so weird and it throws off my timing. Anyway, thanks for the input and if/when I ever move to a new mic, I’ll share whatever I learn!
Yeah the wire was one of the things I don’t like about mine too. I use a wireless dongle on my Jason Ricci signature mic - it’s so nice to be free!!
What kind of amp are you using? If a small or digital amp, you’ll probably love the Bulletini. I’d be surprised if Greg wouldn’t ship one to Canada for ya.
