Most use harmonica-like reeds except the few expensive custom ones that have accordion ones. It sounds similar to a Valved Chromatica just beefier because of the resonance in the bigger case. It’s a pretty fun and quirky little thing to experiment with and interestingly because of the bulkiness of the keys even though it’s bigger generally has less range and portability than a chromatic. Nonetheless a fun subgenre of free-reed instruments.

Got one in 1996. Play it rarely these days.
I do! I also use it for matching pitch when practicing and teaching bending. Very good tool to have around.
