Arkia Harmonicas

Hi all,

Have you heard of Arkia harmonicas and their antibacterial comb?! It seems pretty cool, especially considering their modern shiny look! I know they can be expensive but that would be cool if anyone could share their experience about it.

No, but anti-bacterial comb seems like a good idea.

I don’t know if anyone made brass combs but I remember hearing brass is more difficult for bacteria to live on.

Yeah I got one of those, but I got the cheaper one (which I think is a Kongsheng?) I’m not in love with it. If you’re gonna pull the trigger, I’d say just go for broke and get the nicer one which they use a Hohner. That’s my $.02

I got the Arkia Signature as my first upgrade from starting with my kids toy harp. I love it. Now that I took the deep dive and have over a dozen, it’s still the one I keep picking up the most. I even prefer it to my Marine Band Deluxe. Jonah Fox on YouTube has an excellent review.

These are my two favorites: the Arkia Signature and a Seydel 1847 customized by Alexey Korbin from Estonia.

Blue Moon harmonicas makes brass combs for several Harps, if anyone is interested.

Agree with Luke, I bought the Signature in C. Love it! Super airtight, plays very well with the Hohner crossover reeds. Up there with my Seydel Lightning and Suzuki Fabulous. Like a crossover just even easier to play and sounds great. A lot of dosh for a harmonica but worth it. I didn’t bother with the antibacterial comb (I use the Seydel disinfection bag) but have ordered the bend trainer for a mere additional 5 Euros. Let’s see how that works.
