Finally back from a furious week of work in San Antonio. Made new friends, saw old ones, and taught a few workshops and lessons. Any one watch online? How was the quality? The seminars should be up soon.
David,
I was there live with you brother. Great time! Enjoyed connecting with you a bit and loved the train workshop.
Best

Life got in the way this year, see ya next year!
I was there also and had great time. Didn’t get a chance to chat with you @davidkachalon, but I enjoyed the train workshop. One of many great sessions I got to attend. Looking forward to watching the videos of several sessions I couldn’t attend live and a few of the performances too.
Hope to see more folks next year in St Louis!
David
Enjoyed the work shop on train whistle. I still play with trains and my steam engines have a chip in the tender that replicates a large U P steamer. Its an exact copy of the one left that is still running. Your replication of the chuffs is great as it is exactly like the real thing.
I was only able to make it for one day as we had the 10,000 year flood that ravaged the area I live in. Everyone was cleaning up and celebrating my 20th B day for the 50th time did me in as I got dehydrated and was down for a couple of days. Only good thing was how many people came from all over the country. It was amazing how many people came to help and slept on a make shift bed to help in the middle of summer. Sorta like the established harp players that came to Texas in the middle of summer. I started so late and will never be as good as I wan to be be its an addictive and I am hooked.
I was walking up my steep drive ay and practiced the breathing. I used my steps for getting the timing down. You mentioned how moving improves timing and you are spot on. You get my vote for the MVP but I missed a couple of work shops. I have only been playing about 2+ years but the way you structured your presentation was excellent. Rhythm is what I need to work on as I still play too fast. Thanks for your help and coming to Texas in the middle of summer. Hope you had a chance to get some good Mexican food and barbeque.
I do have two questions. Do you feel the Game Changer notes equate a Crossover in terms of quality? When playing a chromatic how do you get all three steps on the -3? I just got mine first good one the day before I was in your session and am trying to get use to it.
Thanks again.
Keep Well
Scott
So glad you dug it! Moving is key and Im so happy you are feeling it!
I’ve been watching off an on some of the SPAH performances and discussions. Very fascinating. Someday I will try to attend a SPAH convention. Thanks to all the harmonica organizers for putting this on and making this a success.
@nmajaj welcome to the forum! So glad you’ve joined us. Yes SPAH is amazing. HIGHLY recommend it! I had to miss this year, but hope to be there next year in St. Louis.
