Bandera by Willie Nelson?

Having a hard time figuring out the key for the Harmonica part of this song. It sounds easy to play, but not much info on the 'net for it.

Any ideas?

@Dk360 welcome to the forum my friend. Ah, good ole Mickey Raphael. What’s not to love?

This song is in the key of C, and is played on an F harmonica in 2nd position starting like this:

-4 -4 -4 -4 -4 -4 -4 -4’ 4 -3" -3’ -3" -3" -3’ -3" -2

-1 1 2 -2 2 -2 -3’ -3" -2 2 -2 -3" -3’ -3 -3’ -3 -2 -1

2 -2 -3" -3 -2 -1

Love that country cross-harp stuff!

Learning the major pentatonic scale will help a lot with these types of tunes:

And of course it puts a great demand on working those -3 -3’ -3" half-step bend chops.

If you like this style, I recommend booking a lesson with Todd Parrott and asking him to teach you his country licks PDF’s.
