Any help with Broken Window Serenade by Whiskey Myers?? Thanks!
Hey @davemacinnh
I think this is correct - hopefully someone else will chime in and confirm or correct
song in key of C
Each time the harmonica comes in the riff sounds the same to me
Here are the tabs I came up with
4 -4 4 -4 4 -4 4 -4
-4 4 -4 4 -4 4 (-34) (23) (35)
The final 2 notes (35) would require tongue block on 4
But if you wanted to just play blow 3 it works just fine too.
Hope this helps
Mike
One more thing @davemacinnh i think he micro bends the -4 four each time. I played with and without and it sounds good both ways.
@cloves-fibs0f awesome man thank you! I will play around with it!
I was just messing around and did blow 4 the -4 with a bend in and out for a bit with a 4 to 3. Try that and let me know what you think
Oh yeah that sounds nice
Well done
Thanks! I think I got it now and can play along!
I was just typing up a similar post and the forum spit out this post on the right side of where I was typing. Cool feature. I was able to determine the key of the song by Googling it. Then I just blew holes till it sounded like the correct frequency and I came up with something similar to what @cloves-fibs0f did. I think I’ve listened to this harmonica lick like 50 times today second guessing if I’m hearing a note or chord on the second note of the first line LOL
So I listened to it a few more times and then played it again. I’ll tab down what I think it is cause it definitely sounds better and more like the song then single notes and I need the ear practice and tab writing practice.
4 -45’ -4’’ -4’’ -4’’ (on the second note or the first chord it sounds like its a half-bend before it rolls off the 5 and into the next three bends)
-45’ -4 4 -34 34 (to my ear it sounds like he rolls off the 4 on the last chord into a light vibrato and decrescendo)
