I’ve seen on eBay some replacement after market cover Plates for chromatic Harmonica. They’re made out of sandalwood. Has anyone tried these? Do they improve the tone?

Tried a friend’s. It doesn’t improve tone. And the feel in the mouth is nothing special. If it tells you anything, my friend decided to go back to metal covers. He sold the wooden ones at a loss. I wouldn’t recommend them if your goal is to improve tone.

I have not tried them, but I agree with @BnT just based on the properties of physics, they will not improve your tone. And I doubt that you’ll like the feel in your mouth.
