For daily use, I hate to say it but this is my technique

Too much can make for sloppy play, Not enough leads to lips blue and gray. Do it in public for the ire of those at hand, Do it in private to be part of the band. It cakes guck and gum on our beloved harmonicas, But can be cleaned with the same, which is quite ironical. When things start getting gunky though beyond a “spit shine”, I take it apart and clean it with alcohol and a cotton swab, which get most parts.

Between the reeds, I just make sure they are plucking well and remove any debris.
