I got my first harp as a present for Christmas and it is an east top free blue’s (t003) I believe and I wondered if anyone could tell me the difference between that and the 008k.
From an Uber quick Google looks like t003 has recessed reed plates (like special 20) whilst the 008k is a sandwich design (like marine band type harmonicas)
I’ve no idea about playing, but I’ve got 3 008k harps, and they are all decent.
I think they also do a t002 which has cover plates more like a Suzuki blues master.
At a wild guess the reed plates going into all of them may well be the same.
Yes, The 008K is just a lot better tone wise. I had a few of Too3K their ok for a beginner as long as you don’t blow too hard, they do wear out a bit quicker, the reeds compared to 008k are a bit thinner don’t have the life. All the ones I had were blown out. I bought them on a whim.
Thanks for the info. I’m definitely gonna look at an upgrade at some point. Maybe a 008k or special 20 after payday
They are a pretty good beginner/ practice/ back up harp, I generally use mine for back ups and practice harps.
