Ho guys,
Just want to share my experience because I am exited.
I have started playing harmonica around the march… when learning to play single notes I have started with puckering but I switched soon to TB as it felt more natural.
I have played puckering just when I have started to learn bending but as soon as I have achieved first bend I switched back to TB and now I can play them quite good TB.
Around month ago I decided that it would be good to learn also blow bends. Even though I have never practised puckering I could blow bend within few tries. For TB it took me around 2 weeks to learn it.
That’s so cool, I’ve been trying like hell to tongue block and overblow ( not that I actually need it as I play blues) it just annoys the hell out of me that I can do it pursing but not blocked
ea it’s so ackward tongue position … When I reach it it’s quite easy to hold it but I can hit it ones in 10-15 tries even with puckering I hit it almost always.
I would say I need to lift tongue in between the draw bend and blow bend position…
I’ve got all my bends tongue blocked from 1 -6 I keep having a go at blocking and overblow I think it will happen when I don’t think about it so much, I did it once at a gig and a harp playing buddy asked me how I did it but I didn’t even know I’d done it he was adamant it was a really good sounding overblow and I tongue block mostly except when aim doing super fast runs so I’m hoping it will happen again as a happy accident
