Found a new tune, especially if draw notes need practice

I was listening to The yellow Rose Of Texas and decided to tackle it. It is tougher than I first thought as most notes are draws and the rhythm fast. I live in Texas and felt I should give it a try. Almost became the state song, It is a faster tune and if draw notes are something you want to work on this one is worth trying I/M/O. I have heard it for years but never knew the lyrics. I finally tossed the tabs and its coming together. It has helped with draws and having to move around the harp quickly. If you are pulled over for going a little fast having this song playing may well get you just a warning, provided you toss your empty beer cans in the back seat Never toss em out the window.

On a different subject I saw Luke playing a B flat on U Tube. Luke if you see this post what position did you play the “must learn” song Hallelujah in? I have a B flat and tried it and it sounds nice. The post was pretty short but I really liked the way it sounds.

Hmmmm I did it several different ways. My favorite way is 2nd position on a country-tuned harp. Can you post a link of which one you like?

I will look. I saw it pop up once and its was a short. You played it once on a B flat. It sounded like a country tuned harp but it went quick. I noticed it and looked and recognized you. I tried to find it today but could not find it. It was with a number of other shorts. I saw the b flat and play the tune. Sounded nice and I played it straight harp a bit earlier. never though about trying it on a B flat.

Have you tried to play Hit The Road Jack by Ray Charles? For some reason this one is a beast for me. I know the lyrics and tune but t is much more of a challenge than I thought it would be. The song is nice and the lyrics sound very familiar in my house for some reason. Scott AKA Jack

I love Hit the Road Jack on a Natural Minor harmonica it’s fun.

I do as well and its my four day to practice it. I was in the middle of it and my wife advised me to hit the road at 3.00 P.M. as her book swap buddies were coming over. Hit the road is just what I did and the song fit so well as I was practicing it when I was told to get lost but I could come back after 5.00.

Its a bit tougher for me to get the music in memory but like any other tune parts of it are settling in.
