Hi everyone. I am struggling with the hand Wah. Does anyone have suggestions? Also, when you do the Wah are you making a Wah sound with your mouth, just from opening your hand, or both?

Hello @Evan.meiskin,
I use the “wah” a bit by hand. But since I’m also physically restricted, I do a lot of “WAH” with the larynx and tongue. You can hear it on some recordings. It then sounds quiet like the valves of a chromatic harp… 
. But that’s not bad and I think others don’t notice it.
You will find over time that you can use any technique as long as you can handle it. Nothing is set in stone 
. Have fun learning and conquering this small, often underestimated instrument.

Just hand. But my hands are too small. I kind of fake it by blowing differently. I can’t close off my hands enough to completely wah. I do a nah wah instead of a wah wah.
