Hi everyone!
I’ve recently started a new YouTube series called Harmonica for Beginners – Play Real Music From Day One!
The series will consist of 30 free lessons, taking beginners step by step from their very first notes to playing real songs and developing musical expression.
The first three lessons are now available:
Lesson 1 – Which Harmonica Should You Buy?
Choosing the right 10-hole diatonic harmonica and understanding what makes a good beginner instrument.
Lesson 2 – Breathing Through the Harmonica
Learning to breathe naturally, exploring blow and draw chords, and developing a steady rhythm.
Lesson 3 – Your First Blues Shuffle
Playing in G on a C harmonica (2nd position), using simple blow-and-draw patterns, articulation, and triplets to create a blues shuffle.
My teaching philosophy is simple: learn musical techniques by applying them to real music right from the beginning.
You can find the lessons on my YouTube channel:
I’ll be publishing more lessons regularly, so feel free to subscribe if you’d like to follow the entire series.
I’d also be happy to hear your feedback and suggestions!
Happy harping!
Olaf
