Em on guitar. I have to tune my guitar down 1/2 step. What harmonica key? D#? Eb? or ??? Thank you in advance

You want a Low F# to play Heart of Gold in Em with guitar tuned down a half-step.
Make sure you get LOW F#, a standard F# harmonica will be too high and shrill, and you’re not gonna dig the sound.

My lack of knowledge gets me in trouble with guitarists! If the song is played in Em, use a G harp (that’s how Neil Young does it - mind you his backing vocalists are Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor!). How the guitarist fiddles with the twirly bits at the end of the stick to achieve Em is not the concern of the harmonica player. However, if the process of fiddling with the twirly bits (apparently a Chinese practice called Chu Ning) results in the guitarist playing in a different key, then you’ll need a different harmonica!
