Help with "quack" sound in Across the Great Divide

Hi, I’m trying to learn the harmonica part for Across the Great Divide by Kate Wolf.

There’s a “quack” sound beginning at 1.20 that I can’t figure out. It’s some kind of percussive muted draw.

Any tips for how it’s done?

Thanks

It is done just like you stated. A very short and sharp draw that uses the tongue to suddenly start and stop the airflow while muting the sound using your hands.

You just need to do what most of us also do: keep trying and experimenting until you finally get it. Some things like this are simply very difficult to describe verbally, and (in my opinion) this happens to be one of them.

If playing the blues harp well was easy and did not require work, diligence and patience then everyone would be playing like Howard Levy.
