Hohner MS Series

Hohner MS Series harps how air tight are they. How many screws holds the reed plate down.

@Dai , I have all the keys in Blues Harps and 1 Pro Harp ( both MS Series ) I don’t feel their as air tight as the Special 20s ( Progressive Series ) I have most if not all keys in Special 20s also

They only use 2 screws to attach the reed plates to the comb – so it is not surprising that they often (usually?) are not particularly air tight. Hohner should be ashamed. Many harps from other manufacturers now come with 6-8 screws to attach the reed plates and are often less expensive than the MS Series harps.

Thanks might give it a miss, for the price it should be better quality.

Sounds like it’s typical of Hohner lack of quality. Don’t know about SP20 THE Rocket Amps have six screws holding the reed plate.

@Dai , sorry . what does “miss “ mean in your country

@Dai the special 20 has 6 screws holding the reed plates . ( screws holds both plates )

Miss = Single female usually a younger one.

OR

Not too hot something you were aiming at (as in, shit I missed).

All this from the dictionary of Dai

@dblues for the prices they charge you would think they’d have a better quality of manufacture.

Most players who play Blues harps LIKE harps that aren’t to air tight so they can blow the heck out of them, lol. (Rob Paparozzi springs to mind! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:)
