Does anyone know it the hole spacing or hole sizes are the same for both Hohner and Oskar? Is it standard in design of the instrument. Just wondering for future single note playing if it’s easier to buy one brand over the other. Thanks
Somewhere (don’t remember which thread) on the forum I saw a picture of the two. If I recall correctly, the LO had bigger holes and narrower posts between than the Honer. But maybe some forum member with both can post a pick for you. From various threads I’ve read, I am certain a few members have both in their collection.

I think the holes on the Lee Oskar are slightly bigger. I don’t believe there’s a standard.

Thee L O holes are larger and notes very play. I have one and five Hohners. The note quality of the L E is much less than a Hohner. my L E has not been played for months. The Oskar is very large and shape is not to my liking. Too thick and I find it tough to get comfortable with it. bottom line is a Rocket or Crossover is very hard to beat. I tossed the wooden combs and replaced with a plastic comb. My Hohner harps have plastic combs as Hohner uses a soft wooden comb. Moisture and porous wood are a bad combination.
Thanks Scott4, I do notice the wood and plastic differences. I have a Hohner marine band C harmonica with wood. I leave that in my truck as a practice stuck in traffic tool. I just bought the Hohner Special 2o in C and like that one a lot better.

I researched it and the most reviews say the LO has smaller holes. I have the Hohner and like it so I’m not going to buy the LO and screw up my mouth muscle memory. Are you from Italy I’m guessing? Went there on our honeymoon for 2 weeks and it was awesome.
I normally hear the opposite. Who knows, I don’t have a Hohner to compare. I think @Luke mentioned it in his review.

We started off in Rome for a few days. Went down to Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi coast was beautiful. Then went to Florence ended at Venice then took a train to France we stayed in Nice then went to Paris and then flew home to the United States. Europe was awesome. The food, architecture, culture, people.
You touched the best places in Italy and France, congrats!

My eyes ain’t great, but to me it looks like LO has bigger holes, Rocket has bigger tines between holes? Anyone else?

If thats the LO on the top I may purchase an LO for my next harmonica. I like the rounded edges. The blue coloring I like as well. It’s too bad the music stores don’t let you try before you buy like a guitar but that would be totally gross if they did.

Sounds like a good time. I went there with my wife in 7/25. I always wanted to see Omaha beach and it was fantastic. I live right where the flood hit in central Texas last year and left for Europe four days after things settled. I took a harp and was playing it in a small town near the beach. I left the window and doors open and looked up and a guy was just watching. I doubt he ever heard a harp as he said nothing. Northern France still has the personality Paris did the first time I went to Paris in 1984. I spoke a bit of French but mixed with a Texas accent was both entertaining to the French and confusing. Enjoy those free, independent years as they [pass so quickly. I only regret not starting the harp at your age but I practice twice as much a day, two hours plus. to catch up, I am trying to cut the age I started by 1/2 and hopefully at some point will not empty the house when I play.
