I have a Seydel Session Steel. It is rusting near the rivets. Is this normal? I am hoping to hear from a more experienced player. This harp is in C and is about 2 years old, and has heavy use.
If it still play well try soaking it in vinegar overnight. Its a very light acid that may well remove it. If the harp was kept in a controlled environment it should be ok. While its out check to make sure the plates are flat. I rotate mine VERY lightly over 1,500 wet and dry in both directions. I place my finger in different places and never put any pressure on the reeds. I went through this when I started and when the reed plates and comb were plat it made a huge difference in how well it played.
