JP Allen's Jam-Along Song System

Hello Folks,

I’m currently taking @Luke’s awesome Beginner to Boss course and was curious about JP Allen’s Jam-Along Song System. Has anyone taken the course and if so what are your thoughts on it? Pros and Cons? What was your (self assessed) harmonica playing level when you started the course?

I’m a complete beginner and have been playing harmonica for less than 2 months. I can play some sloppy single notes but wouldn’t begin the Jam-Along course for another couple of months and not before completing @Luke’s Single Note Module.

Could someone provide the complete Song list that is covered?

Thanks,

James

Hey @Luke,

Thanks for this link and the demo songs. I really appreciate it.

FYI the looping feature functionality is available on these demo lessons so I’m hopeful the devs can apply it to our 50 Songs in the BTB Course :crossed_fingers:t5: :pray:t5:  :grinning:

Just wanted to revisit this topic to see if anyone else has bought the module in the last couple of years. Ive completed JPs course and almost done Luke’s. Im going to go back and start Luke’s again from the beginning but im looking for somethong to run alongside that to offer different challenges.

I did jump in and buy Will Wildes Masterclass when he had it on discount recently. It’s a great course but from the second module in his excercises demand quite a proficient ability in bending and i’m not there yet.

I’m hoping the Jam Along system might provide me enough challenges to keep me motivated until i can perfect those damn bends and go back to Will’s coursre.

How has anyone else found Jam Along? Would you say it’s a useful addition to your learning arsenal?

No disrespect to Luke or anyone, but I first learned from records this taught me how to find the key and trained my ears, later on I bought a cassette of different backing tracks that left spaces for guitar, this but I played harp to those, they taught me timing. These days I often find great backing tracks on YouTube ok they can go on a bit, and they don’t have spaces for the other instruments etc but I find those very useful and there’s all sorts of styles and genres. As a training tool I think they are petty cool.
