Resonates so hard here too.
Sums me up too! I play harmonica and other instruments for fun and I’m content with my (lack of skill) level!
Oh good, glad I’m not the only too. I don’t really have any goals of becoming a classical musician and I just like playing old western/folk single note melodies and pretending I’m living in the 1910s right around when the small city I’m living in was just starting up by the railroad, helps cope with the past 5 years of gentrification and losing my house.
That and just enjoying and participating in the beauty of a nice looking well crafted harmonica, carrying one in my pocket everywhere and rescuing ones I find sitting in the pawn store/thrift shop :3 I’m also really big on christmas music, I have a songbook of classical christmas melodies I play through a lot during winter.
@Wolfess I also like to rescue harmonicas and clean them up. I find most of mine at the swap meet. I found a very dirty Lee Oscar in E for 5 bucks. I put it in my ultra sonic cleaner with distilled water, a little vinegar and a drop of dawn dish soap. It cleaned right up and plays great.
Ooh I need to get one those again, I used to have one and they were great at cleaning reedplates.
