I never paid much attention to this Moon River but tried it a few weeks ago. It may seem easy but getting the rhythm correct takes some practice. It the slow single note tunes that have helped me with timing and slower is better and correct. I am still learning and have decided that tunes that require precise timing are the best teachers. I am try to learn Unchained Melody and this one borders of self abuse to me. Learning this one without any music and playing it correctly is going to be tough and a long term endeavor. Even though there are lyrics everything about this tune seems tough. Anyone tackled this beast and if so how long did it take you to play it correct from a rhythm standpoint?
I have played Moon River a number of times, and I think it sounds alright..I would like to play Unchained Melody, but I never found a good set of tabs for them - if you know of one let me know.
I can post a recording here later on of either if you want…?
How is this recording of “Moon River” made on a Trochilus Pop Tuning harp in the key of C?
Sounds good as your timing is very close. I use a diatonic in C and when the notes are clean its getting better. Its not a difficult song but to play it with good rhythm is the tough part I/M/O. I pick tunes that force me to play slow as any mistakes really show, especially when I am getting close and then listen. There is always something that needs cleaning up.
Type the song into the search on U Tube and you will see a guy play it with tabs. Its the initial version , not the S & G. The tabs are a bit hard to see but it will give you what you want. let me hear it. You do not want to hear me play it as I do not know the lyrics and am working on the rhythm now. I can play it ok but this one will take a while.
