This is a great tune to improve rhythm. Played it as I remember the song. Thiis look easy but for me to get the rhythm correct and play each note correct takes much listening and laying. 70% 30% is my average ratio between the two. Thanks for posting.

Have you played Moon River? Its also on U Tube.

Nice. This type of tune must have the correct rhythm and any mistake shows up. I like the way he plays but I listened to the Mancini form the movie. I play it in C straight harp. I will try second to see how it goes. I like everything from this to country. It is all about how very it fits a harp. and being a song I like.

Right now I am trying to play the theme song ( long version) John Barry wrote for the movie Dances With Wolves. It is no easy tune but progress is coming slowly. The rhythm varies and is I/M/O difficult to get close. I never improved at anything without playing something I could not do and this is one of them. Thanks

Thanks for showing.

Very nice version, @Dai . His tone control is great. The only thing for me that I don’t like so much is that it is played so extremely slowly :sleeping_face: – but that is just my preference.

I guess that if I could do it better then my evaluation might carry more weight !! :wink:

Out of rhythm. I appreciate any post but I play the song as written. Just not my style.

I am a newbie at the Harp and this seems like a nice slow easier song to learn. Thank you so much for sharing.

@Dai Wonderful tonight is a lovely song and works well on the harp. I’ve been playing it for a while, hopefully I’m slowly improving. I haven’t played sound of silence. I like that song too, but I’m not sure that I agree it’s easy. I’m gradually making peace with draw 8 but this has 8s and 9s - agghhh, not easy for me.

@PapaCurly just take your time, with practice it gets easier. Not a fan of the high end my self but we have to go there to develop our skills. just have fun with it and it will come nicely.

@Dai Thank you for sharing.

I have to admit I’m really starting to like this thread more and more by the day.

Thanks @Dai ‘Both sides now’ is one of my favorites to play. It requires a jump from draw 4 to blow 8 which has been a challenge for me. After much practice, I can land on the 8 cleanly, 80% of the time. Following is a draw 9 which is an easy transition from 8, but if I use the same amount of breath as the lower holes, they screech, so that’s an adjustment also. I’m getting better at controlling that, but then the volume is less, so it’s frustrating. I tend to avoid the high end, but of course you are right, we need to go there in order to improve.
