I’ve been making some progress on the Chromonica, I can now play reasonably well in on my C harp in D, D Minor D#Minor, I’ve been playing various types of Blues, fast, medium and slow, I’ve been doing this to backing tracks and hour every day since I got my new harp. I am finding the notes quite quickly now and I’m recognizing where I can add Jazzy inflections which sounds pretty cool, I am still having a bit of a sticky issue with the changes, but I am overplaying quite a bit due the backing tracks being really long. But I think I have a way around, I’m going to write Lyrics to each backing tracks and use them for my spaces etc, this should help me add more tasteful fills and chords and lead soloing. I’ve learned a bit of a William Clarke song Greasy Gravy, and that is beginning to sound great. All in all, I like the option of extra notes and pretty soon as I find the positions I think I’ll be able to play in quite a few keys. Tongue blocking is however proving to be a nightmare, the holes are quite large and metal, my lips get a bit sore so I’m putting on moisturizer to stop them drying out. But because tongue blocking is a bit difficult on this, For some reason it’s really improved my tongue blocking on a Diatonic, someone on here who knows the ins and outs of these things may be able to explain why. Today has been my best practice yet. I’m really pleased. I’ve started coming up with riffs, I am going to however listen to blues Chromonica masters and try and suss out what they do
