Rockin' in the Free World

Howdy folks!

I’m trying to learn Rockin’ in the Free World by Neil Young. It’s in Em and I’m wondering if anyone else out there has played it. I’m not really looking to solo, just add to the hard-driving rhythm of the song. For Em, that leaves me with an A harp (2nd position) or a Natural Minor Em (e.g., from Lee Oskar).

I’ve tried both and I’m having trouble finding a good groove.

Has anyone played this song or do you have any recommendations on how to approach it, especially with regard to harp choice?

Any advice is appreciated!!
Eric

@Eric If you’re cool with playing single notes, it works really well on a C harp in 5th position:
2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 -4 4
or using splits 25 25 25 25 25 25 25 25 -14 14
That’s probably what’d I’d dow if I was playing the riff with a band.
