Sharp edges updated

I have been spending some time trying to modify my Lee Oskar that I was having problems with sharp edges on the cover plates (see previous post ‘sharp edges’).

I have done the following to several of my harps, it requires a little bit of time and effort but the results are outstanding.

I purchased some ‘Milliput’ it is a 2 part epoxy-type putty that is foodsafe, it cost me roughly £5.00 from Amazon.

I mixed the putty and pressed into shape whilst the harp was still built together, I let it dry then carefully sanded it down; care is needed not to damage the reeds with the crud that is sanded off, just keep washing it out (easy enough to do).

It is all pretty explanatory in the photos, well worth the effort to modify the harps.

See Ya,

I will have to try this. After being brought to tears several times I almost gave up any hope for playing harmonica. I tried several different brands with the same result, Hohner Special 20, Lee Oskar, Mojo Deluxe, and Suzuki Folk Master to name a few. On a whim, I purchased a Suzuki Hammond HA-20 and ended my search. They are a bit on the pricey side, up to $70 depending on where you buy them but the cover plates are not as sadistic and have never tried to Epilady my moustache!
