WOW! So I recently bought a Roly Platt harp wah, (and I love it - I’ll be doing a review of it after I have some more time working with it) so I started looking into “the man behind the mute” and stumbled upon this!
I watched it, and then played it 4 more times in a row, and counting Really great harmonica playing! (Great dancing too!) Can’t stop listening to this catchy tune…

Played on a D harmonica, 2nd position key of A.
Shuffle the Deck Tabs
-5 -4’ -3 -2
-2” -2 -3” -3’
The -2” here is a grace note so it just sound like -2, but there’s a real fast bend into it.
The -3 is released almost all the way up but not quite - like a 1/4-step between -3’ and -3
-5 -5 -5 -4
-5 -4 5 -4’ -3’ 4 (3) -3” -3 -2
The blow 3 is a ghost note, you barely hear it
-5 -4’ -3 4 3
-3’ 3 4 3 -4’ -3’ 4 -3” -3 -2
The last -3 bend is played dirty
These are some REALLY cool licks that are helping me break out of some ruts I’ve been in with my phrasing. I’m definitely stoked to keep studying this song.
Roly is a BEAST!! I just LOVE his phrasing. So playful.
What’s cool too is that I usually listen to his Inside Out album, which this song is not on, so it’d kinda fallen off of my radar. Really great stuff. Thanks for the request!
