Solid State Amp adding a tube power distortion pedal worth it?

Hi everyone,

Being a “newbie”, I am new at playing the amplified Harmonica. I have a Fender Champion 40 amp (solid state) along with an old Shure Green Bullet Mic, a SM57 and a SM58 mic. I do have an inline low impedance to high impedance transformer when using my SM57 & SM58 Mics. I enjoy playing, however am missing that good old Chicago sound you get from a tube amp.

I was wondering is it worth me getting a Lone Wolf Harp Attack to help provide some true power tube distortion? Either that or the Wilde Drive pedal from Lone Wolfe. Or something else?

Right now, getting a tube amp is out of my budget. Although I can pick up an old Ampex 620 tube amp for a great price, I feel that a 10watt amp wouldn’t be much of an advantage over what I already have, and that the proper inline pedal to the amp is more affordable. (I could always run to a PA). My jamming more or less in the basement or garage setting lol.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You can always get a joyo American sound peddle as cheap option.

Great thanks! The youtube video was quite helpful.

@doug_yski If you do a YouTube search for American sound harmonica you’ll see a few more videos. That will give you more of an idea on how this peddle might work for you.
