Hey Fam - I’m working on a YouTube video and would love to show a couple super-quick vids of actual Beginner to Boss students playing at home or on-stage.
The context will be a quick montage 1-3s per video, so it doesn’t have to be a perfect polished performance at all.
I know some of you have shared before, but anybody who has some video who you’d be willing to share for this purpose can you please reply with a link?
Hi Luke,
I would be happy to volunteer for this…am a 73-year-old retiree living on an island northwest of Seattle. Been a member here for 1-2 years and love the Beginner-to-Boss instructional method.
Lemme know if you’re interested.
John
@Luke as mentioned by email, I have videos of me practicing in the mountains. But those videos are not public. How should we share such files with you?
I have this which is public A Rock Climbing Song (warning it is a massacre of Mannish Boy, when I was just few months learning, full of climbing jokes). I have others with mountain background but not public
@Mugen - amazing! Yes, I’d love to see your other footage as well. You can upload it to YouTube (or Vimeo if you prefer) and you can keep the link private if you don’t want others to see.
And then just share a link, like you did here. Thanks a bunch!
@Luke Not sure “amazing” is appropriate for that playing. But it was fun.
You don’t want the original files for better video editing? I record in grey-neutral c-log format to allow for more color control when editing. If you just combine videos with different color tones, contrast, etc. It might look ugly.
@Mugen looks like a really cool venue! I have a downloader. I think I should be good. If I run into any problems when I try to download it, I’ll reach out to ya! Thanks again.
[Edit: Video is New - Updated this to link to correct video, which I hope is slightly less embarrassing than the horror I offered in error]
Hi @Luke… I’m a B2B grad and still using the resources two years on. Here’s me noodling on the sofa with a Lee Oskar low D.
If it’s any good at all that’s down to you, with a side dish of advice from @davidkachalon who told me to get my tongue stuck in. While I’m here, thanks to all the people who’ve helped me on this site over the past few years.
Me two years after Beginner to Boss. The course was really a great starting point for me with a lot of tunes I could play and already knew the rhythm cutting back on what I needed to focus on ‘harmonica’. Luke made the trip fun and that didn’t hurt either.
Me practicing some Little Walter two years after Beginner to boss.
@eric wooooahhhh! Listening to you playing I feel ashamed to have shared my video with Luke.
In which key are you planning the “Come on in my kitchen” song (or which harmonica). Sorry I still can’t identify the key by hear…
I would be glad to provide a short video for you. I am having a blast in your course. If I progress half as much as I already have I will be playing with the Rolling Stones, just kidding.
