Want cross harp early success

Guys I cannot seem to get started with cross harp. I am drawn to the lower notes sound and the fact that you can slide the notes up or bend them down because they are draw notes but I can’t even play one song in cross harp because of my inability to play the third hole whole step bend. I sense the bluesey potential of cross harp playing and want to pursue it. If I could get some easy cross harp songs I believe this would help. I don’t want to avoid the third hole whole step bend entirely as that would prevent me from ever getting better. I need some cross harp lessons or songs for a cross harp beginner

There’s a lot of people who play cross harps on here. Never really took to them myself. Always preferred SP 20’s on which I play second position ( or cross harp as it’s known in the blues)

Practice, practice, practice.
Assuming you can get the half step fairly regually, you’ll be able to get it in time.
For a song suggestion, Danny boy has a 3’’ in it and that’s the song I use to practice it. Becuase it’s a nice song, played fairly slowly and it took me a while to get the note reliably, now I’m still working on not making it sound horrible

I recommend bending while using the bend it better tool.

Another tip I have is learn to bend on a low key, say G. The bending practice you will get is much deeper, and when you move to higher keys, bending will seem almost too easy.

Go to YouTube. Search “Shruti Box” and the name of the note you are trying to match. Should be a drone on that note. Spend 10 minutes a day matching that note.

Your confidence will grow, and after a month of effort, you should be able to do it.
