Hi folks. One of the reasons I’m into harmonicas is if I want to try an unusual scale, I can probably find or make one. I was thinking about getting into diatonic accordions. But I figured out harmonicas have a lot more variety and are a fraction of the cost.
I have some Richter’s, a natural minor, a Blues Shifter. I have a diminished getting made right now. I’m getting a harmonic minor to play the Tetris song. This is what keeps me from doing drugs.
I’m thinking about doing something pretty out there:
I think I want a 16 hole chromatic with augmented or whole tone tuning. The twist is there are 2 octaves of diminished on one end. My thinking is, the whole tone section will give me every major third diad and the diminished section would have most
minor thirds. (Unless I’m wrong. I’m not great with theory.)
I know with both of these, they’re isomorphic. So they’re not in a key, they just have a starting point. Therefore the “keys” in the picture don’t matter (except I might have to mess with the dim section).
My thing is, I don’t like how solo chromatics sound. But if I made a chromatic with all the major and minor diads, I think it would sound really cool
