What song are you working on?

I think you ought to check out harmonicatabs.com I’m not sure if it’s still going. I personally can’t do tabs so I just Wing it, I think songs if they’re covers shouldn’t be exact you should always put a little bit of yourself into them try and make it yours

here you go! it’s a bit messy just ignore the letters

Omg. Thats amazing. I am a naturally inquisitive person and sorry but I need to know the meaning of the letters

they are the notes (For example in the first line G, A, F#)

Ok. So when you have BGD BGD +1
But you say ignore letters ? How do you play that?
I’m only curious not critical.

@yuriythebest I saw the tabs with the letters and imagine the numbers refer to going up or down an octave?

It’s difficult to follow in that format.

yes, I uploaded a “follow along” video here 21.48 MB file on MEGA

I had never seen music played in that way. Very cool :sunglasses:

This will keep me busy for a while…

It doesn’t matter what I play… As long as I play it with inflection :joy:

If you wanna skip the fluff and get to the main event it’s at 2:54

Haven’t posted in a while, currently been refining my kesh jig using EastTop G

-My journey with the Kesh Jig started when I was, well, starting out, and the initial way I played it was totally wrong, then I learnt it the correct way but now re-learning this longer version which is different, and also working to get my rhythm and speed better. Over my journey so far, which is almost a year now I think, I’ve learnt <10 songs since I mostly focus on the technique/refining those songs and not “rush ahead/get distracted”

EDIT: After re-listening to the original I realised the pauses in the first bit were still wrong, need to do more work!

I’m currently working on ‘Catch the wind,’ originally by Donovan. Lovely song. I’ve got the tune of the vocal bits worked out but ironically, I’m struggling with the harmonica part that he plays near the end of the song. I’ve found some tabs, but I just can’t get it. Its driving me crazy!

I went through a folky period fora but, but I don’t recall hearing this one. I’ll look it up

sure thing man, here you go!
this has the tabs for all the instruments though, so you’ll have to experiment with which tabs are the “right” ones

Okay, so with the Kesh Jig I’ve think I finally hit a point where I recorded something I felt proud of/actually liked re-listening

  • also, you know that joke where a builder/contractor/website designer says “I can make it quick, cheap and of good quality - pick two”? Well I think I’ve discovered a similar “law” in music, especially for beginners, “good stable rhythm, good technique/clear notes, high tempo - pick two.” Here I’ve made the “best” compromise I could as per my current skill level

I’m finding the little timing nuances the frustraiting part with all the irish/celtic tunes I’m trying to play. It’s getting there.

One for dry January.
TBF I’m just learning the simple melody, but I liked this version when I saw it.
