that sounded really catchy!
Hi @yuriythebest that is now sounding great keep going!
Wow @Piglet - Iām LOVING this tune bro. So cool, heās playing that pre-war rural blues style on the harmonica. And come to think of it that Appalachian music I think has its roots in Celtic music so I think it makes sense. But this guy has obviously listened to DeFord Bailey and the pre-war guys for sure! Love this stuff!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Luke! Wow, s0 thereās almost like a progression between celtic/irish music-> appalacian/antibellum music-> blues. nice! This is like one of those ācool factoids.ā Makes intuitive sense too.
Blues is a mix of West African Arabic, Scottish Irish, and English folk and church music.
Blue grass is a cross between Blues and what Bill Monroe called Old Timey. Country is a cross between Blues, Irish, Scottish English folk. Rockabilly is a cross between Blues Grass Gospel and Blues. Jazz is a cross between French band Music, and African ( which includes Blues but with a more African approach) and Choctaw native American music
In fact it could be argued that Native American music also had an influence on Blues, Charlie Patton was part Cherokee. Iām a bit of a student of American music not just blues. Which is my favorite.
Hi all! 6 months of progress.
I stumbled across a video of mine from a while back that happened to have the same 2 songs, compared with today:
Youāve come on great there!
@yuriythebest Brilliant mate well done!
this is what I am working on. I find it a relaxing tune.
Thatās lovely Toog. Really nice to listen to. Beautiful tune, played with feeling, well done.
@Toogdog lovely!!!
@yuriythebest Congratulations on your progress!
That is very cool I enjoyed listening to it
I just started on John Denverās Country roads. Always loved that song and it makes practicing more fun.
Itās a great song takes me back to when I was playing folky stuff, I also love big yellow taxi Joni Mitchell, absolutely brilliant song to play on.
that was most relaxing!
Iām looking for harmonica tabs for songs that require a country tuned harmonica.
Iāve been working on Lukeās version of Halellelujah and really like it.
Ask @Luke he will probably have them all worked out
You can also use the Seydel TabTool to convert tabs to your tuning:

although, itād require knowledge/experimentation as to which songs it makes sense to do this with
Huge difference. Much progress.
Thatās cool didnāt know about that. Although Iām not great with tab
