Georgia and Somewhere Over the Rainbow are great ones for country tuned harp!
Gor christmas last year i was given this class and a harp. Well i fell in love with it. After 76 days of daily âsheddingâ i pulled this together durning and open jam. Not sure how i did it?, had a beverage to loosen up. There was an old white beard there with an accordion he was like my prrsonal phill jackson. Stood next to me coaching in my ear. I also am not sure how his mic and amps were set up. There is a dirty nasty tone that i cant duplicate at home. Take a listen and be brutally honest with your reviews. I ca take it .
Sounded great, everything âfit inâ nicely, which I think is the whole point. I think in this particular case, no one can really tell if itâs been â76 daysâ or if you have been doing this for years, since it feels natural.
- your videography skills could use some work though.
It was very short. Sounded ok the little bit we could hear. Maybe try for a bit longer recording next time. What key were they playing in?
Thank you the support really encourages me! I was alone at the jam and tried to place my phone in a manner that woukd work, i failed at videoagrphy .
Well done. Sound is the most important. Donât worry about the video. So is it a backing track?
I want to say c but in the heat of the moment i may have grabbed the G. It all went so fast i was dizzy from the adrenalin rushâŚ
No sir, local jam night at a small bar in Wisconsin. . Bout 7 ppl in crowd and maybe 3 or 4 musicians⌠all very supportive and great fun!
Fantastic. How exciting. I bet you canât wait to do it again. Your playing sound good I would double check the key next time. I look forward to your next recording.
Thank you for the kind words! It will be a lil bit. Leaving for Honduras tomorrow morning. Then 2 stops in mexico and finish with a few days in the keysâŚ
Holy !@#$!!! HECK YEAH MAN!!! LET HER RIP!!
Sounds like youâre playing tastefully when youâre backing up the vocalist, and your solo is FULL of emotion and I love your courage exploring the whole range of the harmonica.
Blown away bro! Big congrats!!
Keep up the great work!!
I just listened again on my desktop after reading Lukeâs comments wow your doing GREAT. I hadnât realized how bad the sound was on my phone. I had only heard it on my phone before and actually missed a lot of you playing in the muffled sound of my phone speaker. Your playing was great. Lesson to me, donât listen to stuff on your phone without headphones.
Good job, thanks for sharing it.
As usual, I have a couple of new tunes on the go. Just today, I started learning âIfâ by Bread. Those of you in my generation, will know it well. Itâs a beautiful song and fits my style with the harmonica. Of course, there are lots of great songs, but I find that some donât seem to translate well to the harp. This one does, and I recommend it to all you melody playing baby boomers. Only thing is, I canât decide what key is best to play it in.
Try an A harp. Tell me what you think.
Thanks, Toog, yeah, I had tried A, Bb and C harps. Probably agree that A was my pick but really wasnât sure, particularly as I tend to favour it with many tunes. I just love the sound of it. Nice to have a second opinion.
Very nice!
If youâd asked me after hearing it, Iâd say youâve been playing for quite some time! I felt totally in the groove and at an appropriate volume to highlight your solo but not dominate everything els too much.
A little sweaky up top, but you could just say you added it for effect and no one would probably know the difference
What a great tune!
I do believe A is what itâs written in, so itâs sounds super cool in A.
But with that said, my key for a song is more likely due to the day:
Monday is A
Tuesday us Ab
Wednesday is G
Thursday is G
Friday is Handicapped day with Bb and Db
Saturday is G again
Sunday is C
I saw your post yesterday and IF sounds killer in G.
Now today in D, it sounds pretty cool too
I especially like to go into the upper register on my D, just to get people attention!
Great songâŚ
Harp on!
Thanks for the reply, âAâ it is then. What is that yellow harmonica in the bottom pic?
