Which songs are you listening to?

Yeh insane probably best sums it up. Not a fan but I’d really love to hear you play it. It sounds middle eastern. Lots of tunes you don’t think will sound good on harmonica actually sound great so I’m open minded on this one. Please post it. You’re a brave man to admit loving Boney M in the presence of professional musicians. Good luck.

Ha-ha, yeah I know. Boney M were also known a Phony M, for good reason. It was all an act. Still, the music is real, just a bit uncertain who’s actually singing and playing it. Come on Toog, you’re similar in age to me, we both grew up in Perth. The radio stations played Rasputin several times a day for years. Are you telling me you never liked it? Luckily, I’m on the other side of the planet to the professional musicians on this forum, they’ll never track me down.

No sorry, it’s true. I never liked it. I was SO serious at that age I had already read about Rasputin and thought he was not someone who should be taken light heartedly. Luckily I have lightened up a little since then. But I also wasn’t into that kind of music at all. I liked Dylan, any folky stuff, Mozart, Bach and heavy metal . Not surprisingly I went on to be a complete nerd. I haven’t changed much and actually had trouble listening to that song and didn’t make it to the very end. I am serious about wanting to hear you Harmonicorise it though. I think that would really be interesting.

That may take some time. It’s a long and winding road.

Nup. Don’t like them either.

People under 50 can probably just ignore me. For those older, do you remember ‘Abraham, Martin and John - by Dion’? Another song that I’ve rediscovered. From the days when we thought we could change the world, if only people would listen to our message. Well, they’re not listening still, perhaps they never will.
