Hey Luke
If I understand correctly you originally grew up in California and JP was born in New York and lived in Texas and yet you both ended up in Hawaii (at some point at least)? I’d love to know your backstory if you are happy to share. What prompted the move - was it just the attraction of warm weather, beautiful scenery and laid back island lifestyle or was it something more than that?
LOL. I met a girl in Ohio who was 50% Hawaiian and I tagged along with her for a 30 day trip, and let the return tickets go, and I’ve been here ever since. That was 26 years ago (and she’s now my ex-wife.) I love Hawaii!
Lol, my partner came to England for three years with her ex husband so he could go to art college here which is where we met. He went back to Australia but 43 years later she’s still here with me
I just got back from a 10 day Hawaii trip celebrating 25 years with my wife
We spent most of the time on Kauai and then 3 days on Oahu
I could live in Kauai - really liked the people, views, local cuisine, beaches, weather and pace.
What island are you on @Luke ?
Mike
Congrats! I’m on the Big Island of Hawaii, in Kona.
Luke My wife and I went to Maui in 1981 got our honeymoon. Went back three years ago. Money sure has changed a beautiful island. The trip to Hana was fantastic. Lindbergh is buried at a small church at the end of the road. Few people know about this. When he was about to go he told the doctor he would rather live a few more days in Maui than 30 more in Chicago.
There are some tings that should be off limits to real estate developers as some places are just tp fantastic to change. I don’t blame you a bit for staying. Its a beautiful place. Only wish I got to Maui faster and saw kunai. Its cold in TX now and we have no black sand beaches.
Some times it takes the “wrong” person to get us to the places we are supposed to be!
