$15 for 2 Screws for Golden Melody?

Hi @HarpinBobbyMcB

Yes, it should concern you. There is a conversion kit you can buy – but my advice is to go for the Marine Band Deluxe (has screws). If I remember correctly, @Luke did a review of the 1896 model on YouTube – and he panned it.

You are right, Astrid

Actually my post was probably not too clear since I wasn’t proposing a solution to this dilemma, rather wondering about the advisability of buying a harp with nails rather than screws.

@Slim you hit the nail right on the head! After I posted this I watched @Luke’s video on the Hohner 1896. I then watched a few “conversion” videos to change to nails with screws and figured it was far too much trouble, so I decided to go another direction . Your advice about the Deluxe model is a good one and I’ll keep it in mind :thought_balloon:

Thank you both for your responses.

@HarpinBobbyMcB I just happen to be writing a piece for my next newsletter called “I’ll Never Play a Marine Band 1896.” I’ll post a link to it in a few days.
